Equipment and Training ……..

EQUIPMENT

As  a club the actively encourages anyone, and everyone, to try Archery we have equipment available for you to use.

We would recommend that, unless you have already tried Archery before, you should use the available equipment, and do not purchase any equipment for yourself at this point in time.

The reason?

Basically, we would like you to feel that you are under no pressure. If, after the six weeks training you find that Archery is not for you, you have had, hopefully, six weeks of good experiences and we would wish you well. But you are NOT out of pocket, having purchased equipment that you not longer require.

If, however, you have discovered that Archery is the sport for you – you can continue to use the Club equipment after the first six weeks. What we would ask you to bare in mind is that, if we have any new starters, we would like to give them the same benefits as everyone else has enjoyed – so we do reserve the right to allocate club equipment those new starters.

We would encourage, and assist you, to start looking to supply your own bow. Feel free to observe the other club members. Ask them questions – we are all happy to help. They can advise you of where they obtained their personal equipment. We would certainly recommend a visit to any of the specialist suppliers – as they will advise you, and setup your bow, to advise you on the bset type of equipment for you. After all we are all individuals.

Don’t rush to get equipment for juniors without advise from an experienced archer. Occasionally we may even get some 2nd hand equipment which is most advisable in all cases, please do not go to a non archery orientated shop as this is or can be a waste of money.

TRAINING

First you will be taught safety
You will be shown all aspects of archery and will be taught how to shoot accurately and be encouraged to improve your shooting, and maybe go in for competitions.

As, with everything in our sport – safety comes first – please take the time to visit your local club for advice.
