grouphug The club, as such, up made up of two Sister units, there are the AnchorBowmenofScunthorpe, who are predominantly Target Archers (as in the Olympic Archery) and the 100Yard Field Archery Club, who shoot at a number of targets set out on a meandering course laid out in the scrub and tree's of a woodland we borrow. The club members are a varied group of ordinary people that on certain days and nights of the week who get together to do archery.

This is a sport that can be done both in and outdoors.

In the summer we now shoot at The Paintball Site, run by JCS Sports, at the rear of the Little Chef Café, at the Barnetby Top Junction. (Just off the M180/A180 turn off).

During the winter period we also shoot at the Royal Hotel, Doncaster Rd, Scunthorpe. DN15 7DE (Near the Traffic Lights, Opposite Sainsbury's). When we shoot indoors archery starts at 7.00pm and finish at 9.00, we are allowed 15 minutes earlier so that we can get set up. We shoot at a distance up to about 20 yards (although, due to space, this is normally around 15-18m), which is the accepted indoor distance (shorter practice distances can be requested if required). Our night for archery, in the Hotel Function Room, are Wednesdays (although please refer to the Indoor Shooting Page, as some of the nights have had to be amended for booking reasons).

When we shoot in the in the summer we start at around 5.30p.m and finish when it gets dark or when you have had enough. The distances are a little bit further i.e.10-100 yards (but you have to practise for the 100 yards). Our nights are still Monday and Wednesday, much the same as indoors.

We also shoot on a Saturday (weather permitting) from around 12:00 to 13:00 (Although a return to 10.00a.m till about 12.00p.m. may be considered once we have settled into the new location)
