As with most sports, Archery follows a basic set of conventions.

1: Safety

Everything we Archers do should always be carried out with the safety as a first priority.

The use and direction of Bows, when to fit your arrow, what to do if something should go wrong. These, and much more are all considerations that should be in the forefront of your mind as you get ready to shoot. Field Archery may have different consideration that those shooting Targets – but safety will always remain the highest of priority.

Now we have the safety warnings over – we will get onto the basic process of firing an arrow.

As mentioned in the Bow Info. missive, if you have any doubts, any questions or queries; don't hesitate – ASK.

The following few pages are only guidelines – as you gain experience you could well gain additional benefit from a series of coaching sessions, either from a local Club coach, or via a local specialist coach.
