  For the attention of all club members … 

  Sorry about the delay in posting anything from the Committee, via my various missives, but as you maybe aware, things have not been that good in our household for the past month or two.

  Things are also changing at the club – and, because of this it will be necessary to arrange some form of vote and/or meeting to discuss what we wish to do next.

  As you may also be aware, Steve watt has left the club. this is a big blow to me personally, and I’m sure that you join me in wishing him, and Sam, all the best for the future.

  That does, however, leave just myself as Secretary at the present time. Although we have an some interest in the Treasurers’ position (thanks) it would only be fair to see if anyone else would be interested in being either the Chairman or the Treasurer.

  However, the most important thing is that we decide what we need to do as a club. I will be contacting everyone by either letter/email or text shortly with the arrangements of the meeting.

  If you have any questions, please feel free to ask and I will try and help.

  New Shooting location…… 

  Good morning everyone, hope you are all fine.

  Can I firstly thank everyone who took the time to let me know their opinion of the proposal to move to a new shooting location – the Pine Shooting Ground, Sandbeck Lane, Blyton.

  My thanks also go to Steve , Brian and all those that took the time to go to Blyton the other Monday to have a tour of the new site.

  For your information – of those who responded the majority were in favour of a move to Blyton, although there were several major concerns raised . Those concerns are now being appraised and a solution sort that would negate these concerns.

  I will, of course, let you all know what becomes of these negotiations, and what happens next.

  GNAS Subscriptions … 

  For the attention of all Club Members affiliated to Archery UK (GNAS).

  Following the introduction of a new subscription process by Archery UK, the yearly payment made to them is now due.

  I will be sending letters and invoices out to the appropriate people in the next few days. Payment is required by Archery UK by the end of August/beginning of September. A prompt reply would be much appreciated.

  Urgent announcement … Meeting at the Proposed New Shooting Site 

  Anchor Bowmen of Scunthorpe

  For the Information of all club Members, The Anchor Bowmen of Scunthorpe and the 100 Yard Field Archery Club

  Dear All

  Sorry about the shortness on this announcement, but I have only just found out myself.

  There will be, on Monday Evening, a meeting at the site of the proposed, new, Archery Site.

  The address is as that in the letter/email previous sent in that if you wish to attend you will need to go to :

  Pinewood Shooting ground (the site is usually signposted , locally, As a Clay Pigeon Shoot) Sandbeck Ln, Blyton. Near Gainsborough DN21 3LN. (if anyone knows where the Ice cream Stall is located, the site is located as follows. Take the High Street/Road towards Gainsborough. You will pass a School on your Right, and the there is a Pub and Post Office/Shop on your left. As you travel up the rise, approx. 80-100m before where the road bares sharply left, there is a road on the right – this is Sandbeck Lane. Travel down this lane a fair way and the site is found at the bottom of this road.)

  The meeting is due to start at 18:15.

  Important Announcement …. 

  Message to all members of the Anchor bowmen of Scunthorpe and The 100 Yard Field Archery club.

  If you view the website in the next few hours, or you will receive, in the next few days a letter with an important announcement. As many of you may have been aware, the club has been looking for an alternative shooting venue.

  With that in mind, we have been invited to shoot at Pinewood shooting Grounds, Sandbeck Lane Blyton.

  Please read the letter, as it is important that the committee know what you think about moving to this location. Along with communal facilities, like toilets and the like, we have been promised access to both flat wide, cut fields for the Target Archers, and access to wood land for the field Archers.

  This is your club, so we would like to know what you think.

  We would appreciate a prompt response to the request contained in the letter.

  A Website Announcement …. 

  Dear All,

  there has been a message from the suppliers of the software I use to run the site that there is an urgent security and operations update.

  Having already tripped up on my own personal site Smudgersworld where things locked up to the update very badly, I have had to disable some of the plug-in and activities to allow the upgrade to work.

  The downside to this is that I will have to go through the various items , one by one, to make sure that every thing is OK .

   

  I do apologies if things go “on and off” for the next few hours (days!!) as I find time to sort these things out.

  A message from the Secretary …… 

  To all members of the Anchor Bowmen of Scunthorpe and The 100 Yard Field Archery Club …

   

  My dear friends.

  As many of you have been aware I, and my family, have been away from Archery for several weeks now due to a wee family crisis. Although I won’t bore you with the details – the whole thing is now sorting its self out nicely and Cathy is getting better slowly.

  It may well be a few more week before I (We) will be able to come back down to the Archery Field and get some practice in ( coz, I suspect, we’ll need it), but we do certainly appreciate your support and forbearance in this.

  So once again, many many thanks for giving us all the time to sort this problem out and, in the words of the Governor of California – “We’ll be back”.
